Holiday Eggnog

Ingredients
  

  • 6 eggs, separated
  • ¾ cups (150 g) sugar, divided
  • 2 cups (473 ml) heav y cream
  • 2 cups (473 ml) whole milk
  • 2 cups (473 ml) Irish whiskey
  • 1 ounce (29.6 ml) rum
  • Freshly ground nutmeg, for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Using an electric hand mixer, beat together the egg yolks with ½ cup (100 g) sugar. Wash the mixer beaters well and dry them thoroughly.
  • In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff. Fold in remaining, ¼ cup (50 g), sugar. Add the beaten egg whites to a large punch bowl. Fold in the prepared egg yolks, cream, milk, Irish whiskey and rum.
  • Serve chilled, topped with nutmeg.
